One of the world’s most exclusive private island retreats, Fregate Island, has reopened its doors after the completion of a major refurbishment lead by new management team Oetker Collection.

Just in time for the busy summer season, Fregate Island has this week announced the completion of a major refurbishment project. As well as introducing a new, more-modern style to the popular Seychelles sanctuary, the refurbishment has also seen a new lease of life breathed into the resort’s public areas, the ultra-exclusive Banyan Hill Estate, the marina and all 16 of Fregate’s exclusive private pool villas.
A New Stage of Life of Fregate Island
Managing Director Wayne Kafcsak oversaw the lengthy transformation, and remains confident that the changes made will continue to impress the resort’s regular guests whilst simultaneously inspiring new visitors to give the glamorous hideaway a run for its money. Describing the changes as a “new stage of life” for the resort, Kafcsak was only too keen to give Private Island News a run-down of the latest developments.
According to Kafcsak, the sixteen pristine pool villas have been totally refinished and given a cleaner and more modern feel with beautiful white linen fabrics aimed to complement the natural African hardwood interiors. There are also new air conditioning systems, high speed wireless internet, TV systems and mini bars, continued the capable MD.

The Presidential Villa, Banyan Hill -long a favourite retreat of those looking for the ultimate retreat – has also had its 3 separate villas and the core entertainment building completely renewed, and the island’s beating heart – the marina – has also been restored. Brand new equipment has been introduced and there are now multiple places to relax, socialize and dine around the island, including the Yacht Club, the Anse Bamboo Beach Bar and even the island’s very own tree house- the perfect place to have breakfast in the wild.
All the resort’s gardens and private green spaces have been groomed to perfection and there is also a brand new kid’s club located on one of the islands seven beaches.
