Caribbean: Love at first sight for the new owners of Petit St. Vincent

Sixty kilometres south of St. Vincent in the Grenadine chain of islands, lies the  beautiful and charming Petit St. Vincent (PSV). The 113 acres of softly rolling green hills, surrounded by white sandy beaches, were enough to entice two friends to purchase the island late last year.

THE STORY OF A LOVE AFFAIR

Retired Texas petroleum businessman Philip Stevenson was sailing through the Grenadines in 2007 on his yacht, when he immediately fell in love with PSV. By coincidence, his friend Robin Paterson, a British long-time resident of Barbados, with over 30 years experience in international real estate, also sailed past in 2009 and became infatuated with its beauty. Their mutual dream became a reality in November 2010, when they acquired the freehold for the spectacular private island, which they intend to develop to its full potential.

THE FUTURE OF PETIT ST. VINCENT

This wonderful Caribbean gem has already been described in many “Top 10 lists” as a perfect hideaway resort. Warm crystal clear waters lap the sandy white shores in a place where visitors have a sense of being alone on the island. PSV has always been a resort that has preferred to stay away from the big chain hotels, in order to offer guests a unique and truly private break. Staying close to nature, there are no televisions or phones in the cottages, no formal check-in and no keys! The new owners have plans to put the island into a class of its own, by upgrading the existing cottages, developing leisure activities, adding a new restaurant and spa pavilion, whilst maintaining the theme of natural simplicity.

Managed by a highly experienced and dedicated team, this magnificent resort will reopen after summer once the renovations are complete. To see more of the island visit: Petit St Vincent
