The Most-Expensive House in Germany
Property prices in Germany are going from strength to strength, with square meter prices soaring to an all-time high in the country’s northern territories. The latest property to attract attention because of its eye-watering price-tag can be found on the island of Sylt – an unassuming cottage with a moss-covered roof and a sad-looking garden which could be all yours for an incredible EUR 11.2 million.
The most-expensive house in northern Germany comprises of a 160 m² property perched upon 200 m² of land – hardly what you’d describe a trophy home. Local estate agent Peter Peters pins the price on the property’s “stunning” location, describing the main draw to be the thought of waking up every day to “picture-perfect views of the mudflats and the stormy seas beyond.”

We contacted Hamburg-based island brokers Vladi Private Islands to find out what they could offer us in the same price segment – and couldn’t believe what we discovered…
