Taylor Swift certainly knows how to celebrate in style. The 26-year-old singing sensation has just returned from an unforgettable stay in Australia, after inviting family, friends and her 125 strong crew to a picnic with a difference – on a picturesque private island in Queensland.

Upon the conclusion of 1989, her mammoth 85-date world tour, the Shake-It-Off star enjoyed some much-deserved “down-time” on the popular island retreat, celebrating her 26th birthday along with her friends, family and each and every one of her 125-strong “Swift Squad”…!

Celebrating Turning 26 and Completing World Tour

Yes, that’s right; her hard-working crew was also allowed to get in on the action, enjoying an unforgettable private island picnic at the pop star’s expense. Given that eight-month-long tour reportedly generated in excess of USD 10 million, the singing star could afford to go all out with the celebrations.

The superstar placed a media ban on the island during her time there, meaning that details about exactly what Team Swift got up to on the island are thin on the ground. Local media sources report that the group enjoyed a picnic and beachside barbecue as well as a private concert from Swift herself, which ended in a huge singalong.

The singer said she was “stoked” to be able to take her band and crew on vacation after such a long tour. She went on to thank the staff at Hamilton island for taking “great care” of her team: “Thank you to Hamilton Island for taking such great care of 125 of the people who work tirelessly to make sure the show goes on.”

Hamilton Island – An Australian Island

Swift and co. checked in to the Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island – a luxurious 30 acre retreat in Australia’s Whitsundays group and surrounded by the spendour of the Great Barrier Reef.
