Alexis Pappas

is a writer and editor with a broad range of experience in the niche market of private islands. She was formerly the editor of an island-based magazine and has contributed numerous articles to international luxury publications. Based out of Toronto, Canada, her focus is on the exciting North American market, spanning from the exotic Caribbean to the forested lakes of Alaska. She aims to bring PIN readers the latest news and uncover the most interesting stories about this dynamic region.

Janet Horwell

I’m a well-travelled New Zealander currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I have a bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a Masters in Communication from RMIT in Melbourne. I love writing, technology and travelling, and jump at any chance to explore and adventure. I’m really looking forward to keeping you posted on island news, ‘down under’ so watch this space.

I was born in 1974 to a mother from Cologne and a father, whose family left China during the Cultural Revolution in 1965, but then won a scholarship from the Goethe Stiftung, which brought him to Cologne. Islands have always fascinated me from early childhood. Since emigrating to China in 2006, I have travelled extensively in Asia and fallen in love with islands. After contacting Vladi Private Islands (VPI) several years ago, I finally got the chance to fulfill my lifelong dream of collaborating with VPI in February 2011. I am building a distribution network for VPI in the Greater China region, and have direct access to the private island market. I look forward to covering the lastest island news in China and the region.
