The final touches are in place for the grand re-opening of popular private island hideaway Royal Belize; just months after its acquisition by American consulting company Kalypso.
Just months after being snapped up by an American consulting company, picturesque private island retreat Royal Belize is getting set for a grand re-opening party, with its first guests set to arrive to great fanfare later this month.
Tucked away within the enticing azure waters of South Water Caye, Royal Belize is the country’s only fully exclusive island rental. Available to only one guest party at a time, the serene, seven acre private island “combines high-end accommodations and services with adventure to create a memorable travel experience on the second largest barrier reef in the world.”
Since taking over the paradisiacal island, the new island owners have been busy making changes to the resort, including a sophisticated make-over of Royal Belize’s intimate accommodation facilities. Capable of sleeping a total of 12 adults, the island’s four bungalows provide comfortable living complete with air conditioning, wireless internet access, and excellent entertainment equipment.
A new environmental ethos will also see the island resort make the switch to renewable energy, starting with more energy efficient lighting and appliances and moving on to the expansion of the resort’s existing rainwater collection system. Aiming to become a fully sustainable island, the new owners are also planning a greater reliance on solar and wind power.
Private Island News caught up with island manager, Tracy Ford as he prepared the final touches to the new-look luxury resort: “The caye’s updated equipment, enhanced amenities and sustainability investments will bring new life to the island. The staff at Royal Belize is ready for active adventurers and lay-around-loungers alike.”
