Justin Trudeau Visits Bell Island

Bell Island is once again in the headlines of the international press after receiving an extra-special guest over the Christmas break: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau travelled to the island at the invitation of its current owner, The Aga Khan, a spiritual leader and philanthropist.

Bell Island is located 66 miles southeast of Nassau within the Exuma Land and Sea Park, a protected area with some of the most beautiful natural coral reefs in the world.

With more than 335 acres of lush virgin forests and unspoiled tropical beaches, Bell is a paradise island which promises the highest levels of luxury and privacy – the perfect place for a political leader to escape the pressures of his highly demanding job.

The island is currently owned by one of the world’s wealthiest men: the Aga Khan, the hereditary spiritual leader of the world’s approximately 15 million Ismaili Muslims and a renowned philanthropist.

Hamburg-based island consultants Vladi Private Islands brokered a deal for the island in 2009 and have supplied Private Island News with exclusive photos of the stunning retreat. Speaking to Private Island News earlier this week, the company’s founder, Farhad Vladi, explained that he was “proud that an island sold by Vladi Private Islands continues to be so well-appreciated after all these years.”
